CBSE Partnered with NIELIT to Launch 19 Free Online Tech Courses for Classes 8 to 12

Empowering Students for Tomorrow: Accessible Digital Literacy, Future-Ready Skills, and Next-Generation Learning at Zero Cost.

In a landmark initiative aimed at fortifying digital education at the school level, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has joined hands with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) to launch 19 free online courses for students studying in Classes 8 through 12.

Mirroring the success of the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) ‘SWAYAM’ portal in higher education, this initiative brings specialized tech-driven learning directly to school students, enabling them to acquire critical future skills from the comfort of their homes.

Preparing Students for a Tech-Driven Future

The primary objective of these self-paced, online learning programs is to foster digital literacy, technological awareness, and essential 21st-century skill sets among school students. Through these courses, learners can gain foundational as well as advanced insights into emerging domains such as:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI

Python Programming and Web Designing

Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing

Cybersecurity and DevSecOps

Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)

Semiconductor and VLSI Design

Dr. Pragya M. Singh, Director (Academic) at CBSE, has issued directives to all affiliated schools to widely promote this initiative among teachers, students, and parents to maximize participation and build a vibrant culture of technology-enabled learning.
